a week ago i was complaining about the longevity of summer.
now it's been forty degrees + dark gray + rainy for three straight days
and i've been sleeping with like twelve blankets at night.
my mom came into town for the weekend.
we hung more art in my apartment and watched community
and had warm parmesan focaccia dipped in alfredo sauce for our entire dinner.
the weekends always go by scary fast when she's here.
we went down to the igloo to say goodbye,
snacked + shopped + dirtied a lot of coffee mugs,
and then it was sunday again, another "see you later" sunday.
i didn't cry when she left, though, which is a huge step for me.
instead i drank hot cider, rooted for the boys during their last preseason game,
and had a mini aneurysm in reaction to the arrested development news (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

ReplyDeleteOoo I'd love some chilly weather! We actually had a little rain on Friday night and I didn't need my fan, but then it was right back up to 80 the next day. Blech. Glad you got to hang out with your mom! I basically worked all weekend, in between movies with my family and a fundraiser walk event.
