the best thing

i broke out the coconut oil this weekend
along with my favorite slinky black robe
and thick, soft socks
(that aren't actually mine.
i mean, i didn't steal them.
they just mysteriously appeared in my closet
which is something that has happened to me, sock-wise
my entire life)

(i'm totally not kidding)

anyway, something about having an extra day off
actually hinders my motivation to do all my classwork.
this whole weekend i kept wandering over to netflix
and a story i'm working on,
not to mention tumblr and pinterest and twitter.
my camera was also another big distraction
as well as really gorgeous fruit
and an awesome hattrick by geno
but i did manage to find it---
the allusive thing called motivation
after a few hours getting lost
in abigail washburn's voice
and the contents of my wine cooler,
which is pretty much the best thing about my apartment.

i mean, how could it not be?

there's wine in there.

what are you up to this week?

p.s. for those who asked...sexy book club is a little thing some of my pittsburgh friends and i have where we read a smutty romance novel and get together and talk about it. basically it's a way to read something other than what we have to for our classes, which for the most part is usually long, dense, and difficult. it's light and fun and very giggly. and there's alcohol.

  1. I love the sexy book club idea....I've always wanted to host a book club. one day, one day.

do you drink your tea with milk? (it looks like it in the photo). Because I do and I'm always getting comments about how strange it is....little do they know! ;)

    1. books clubs are the best. i had one back in my hometown that was more a traditional book club (contemporary fiction and a lot of off topic chatting) and i have to say i'm enjoying the smutty one more. i think books clubs centered around a specific, non mainstream genre are the best.

and i'm a half-n-half girl, born and raised :) there are definitely teas that i don't put half'n'half in, but most of the time i do. so good!

  2. I feel the exact same way about 3-day weekends. All motivation is lost (though, ironically, I now have extra time to get things done!).

I love the idea of a sexy book club! Sounds like it'd be so much fun to do with the gfs.

  3. Hooray for getting away from school reading! Love that shot with your mug of tea, so many interesting and pretty things filling the frame. :)

  4. That sounds like a pretty rockstar three day weekend, if you ask me! My motivation also seems to go out the window the more time I have...weird that it works that way.

Mmmm grapefruit. My favorite part of winter.

  5. I love the SOPA page that popped up! I understand, I took 3 days off work to get stuff done and hardly anything got accomplished. I blame Netflix too.
