november or new years

2012 has been an interesting, blurry year so far
i've had to think a lot about the future
i've had to work my ass of at work + school
the weather has been eerily mild (open windows + rainy walks)
and i've been eating a lot of green pears + cheesy egg sandwiches
and running out the door
and capturing small moments on my phone
as time becomes the end of february
and i'm honestly not sure if i feel like it should actually be
november or new years

how about you?

the thing about winter

the thing about winter
is that it's kind of hard to take a lot of outside photos.
my camera doesn't do super well in the cold
and then there's the shutter button/glove awkwardness
or the shutter button/freezing fingers awkwardness
which means i end up taking mostly interiors during cold months,
or at least i used to before i switched to an iphone this week.
before i even uploaded my contacts
i downloaded instagram and instantly fell in love,
as you can tell from the shots above.
honestly, the camera on the iphone 4s is so stellar
the whole being able to make phone calls thing is just icing.
it's basically like having a new camera
that is so much more compatible for winter use than my DSLR
which means the world kind of opened up to me
for the next couple months, photography-wise
which is a really nice feeling.

how's your winter going?

like twelve cups of tea

i'm finally starting to feel healthy again.
i still sound like a middle-aged smoker
and need like twelve cups of tea
to get through the day
but the thought of leaving the apartment
doesn't make me want to weep anymore
so overall things are on the upswing,
albeit a slow one.

how's your february going?

on the move

phone shots

ten hours of sleep over three nights.
friends. vodka tonics. bad poetry. good laughs.
local art. cherry pie. midnight theatre.
and the best pirate blanket ever.

this weekend home = exhausting.

in a really good way.

how are you?
